Little Handyman

Z loves to help out around the house, whether it's cooking or fixing things! He seems to be pantless in these videos, but that's not slowing him down!

Home Life

This picture is not staged. Nathan is reading Forbes and Z is reading National Geographic.

And apparently he's contemplating buying a large, uncut diamond necklace.

These two are getting to be better friends. Here Z was watching a little t-bop (TV) and Lu decided to cuddle up next to him.

Recently Z has figured out that Nathan and I have names other than Daddy and Mama. So every once in a while he'll walk up to Nathan and say, "You Natan, Daddy?" When we ask him what his name is, he always says, "Lazarus" instead of Z. Maybe he thinks of Z like Daddy and Mama, and understands Lazarus as his official name.

Now if we could just get him potty-trained!

Christmas in Kansas

We went down to Kansas for Christmas this year and spent a week seeing the Stegall family. We arrived in Kansas just in time for the big snow (and escaped Sioux Falls just before the big snow started)! It got so snowy and blowy that Micah and Christie and their kids and Liz joined us and Abe at Mom and Dad's house on Christmas Eve. It was a big Christmas slumber party! Everyone had a great time, many presents were opened, much delicious food was eaten, and Mom and I got to watch It's a Wonderful Life. Pretty good.

Papoo in the big chair with the grandkids and the dog (who thinks she's a grandkid).

Opening presents.

General Christmas hub-bub.

Examining the Christmas candy with great delight and anticipation!

Can you tell we're related?

Nathan and Simon led us all in singing Christmas carols.

What a cutie!

All tired out -- what a day!

You'd think it was Halloween!

Basketball Shoop

Z was allowed to open one Christmas present today since it is way too big to take down to Kansas. At first he wasn't quite sure what was going on, but got into as soon as he realized what was in that big box! Here's a little video of his fun with the new "basketball shoop."

Liturgical Dance -- RP Style

For those of you who might not recognize it, this is Psalm 100, Z's new favorite song. He requests "Joyful Noise" every day. I supply the noise and Z supplies the joy!
